Visit Winter and Hope at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium

Thank you for sharing!

Disclaimer: I received complimentary admission to the Clearwater Marine aquarium to promote Dolphin Tale 2. All opinions are my own.

If you are looking for something amazing to see away from the Disney Parks, you need to visit Winter and Hope at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. I hope you have seen Dolphin Tale and know Winter’s story. Winter was rescued and brought to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Winter lost her tail and a prosthetic tail was made specifically for her. Her story has inspired people all over the world.

I was welcomed to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium by David Yates. David Yates is the CEO of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. He is very passionate about the mission of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. CMA is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick and injured marine animals. In Dolphin Tale you see part of the mission, rescue and rehabilitation. In Dolphin Tale 2, you see all three parts of the mission statement. Another issue that David is passionate is about is the effect Winter has had on people with disabilities. He loves hearing people’s stories about how Winter has helped them. He told several stories and I could have listened to more all day long.  At the end of Dolphin Tale 2, several pictures are shown of children and veterans meeting Winter. Such a heartwarming sight to see!

After hearing David Yates. A trainer talked to us about Winter’s tail. I was able to touch and hold her tail and the gel. Do you know that she gets a new tail every three to four months? Winter wears her tail about 3 times a day for short periods of time to help strengthen her spine so she doesn’t get injuries from swimming side to side rather than up and down.

Learning about her tail was interesting, but I wanted to see Winter and Hope. Her are some of the pictures of Winter and Hope that I got.

The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is more than Winter and Hope though, here are some other creatures you will find!

I wish I could spend a month in FL! 2 weeks at Disney and then 2 weeks at all the other places that FL has to offer.
