Every year on select dates in November and December you can visit the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort and take advantage of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Since this is a separately ticketed event at the Magic Kingdom I am often asked if it is worth the extra money to attend. In one easy word – yes! I want to share with you my top three reasons why Mickey’s Christmas Party is so much fun and worth the cost and effort.
My Top 3 Favorite Reasons to visit Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
The holiday season is always filled with special treats. Some of the most special memories are made in sharing special meals and food with loved ones. The entire Walt Disney World Resort is filled with holiday goodness and decorations. There are special confections to munch on everywhere all over the resort. At Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party you will get to have cookies and hot chocolate right on Main Street. Cast members are just there passing them out. These special treats are included in your ticket price and as you line up to see the themed parade and fireworks you can enjoy these cozy treats with your family and friends at no extra cost.
Special Character Meet and Greets
Some Disney Characters are only out for parties. You can get a meet and greet with the 7 Dwarfs, the Princes, are with their Princesses, and other rarer characters come out such as Scrooge McDuck. The characters who come out change every year and do vary a little bit. I would not suggest spending your whole party though standing in line for these characters. Pick one or two you would like to see and then put that in your schedule.
My number one reason I love Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party is that you can enter the park on your select date at 4:00 PM.
The ticket cost is about a third less than regular park admission. You have plenty of time to enjoy rides, dinner, and a fun time at the Magic Kingdom before you view the special parade and settle in for Hot Chocolate, cookies and snow on Main street. Disney only sells a certain amount of tickets for each event to avoid over-crowding, so a good time will be had by all. A great tip is that if you have seen the parade before and are lucky enough to go again, you can skip the parade viewing and likely walk right on and off of the rides and attractions in the Magic Kingdom.
So go for the parade, the short lines, the goodies, or the character greetings, but anyway. you look at it magical memories are bound to be made when you attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!
