5 Cool Things About Disney’s The Santa Clause

Thank you for sharing!

This week I am going to share some trivia from the Santa Clause. I am not sure about you, but watching this movie is a Christmas tradition. My dog is named Bernard after Bernard the head elf as well. I am a big fan of this movie.

Santa Clause Trivia

Lately, I have become somewhat of a Disney Movie freak. I love knowing all the behind-the-scenes stuff, the goofs, and especially where the Hidden Mickeys are. Did you know that The Santa Clause movie had a Hidden Mickey?

  • When Scott and Charlie are leaving the North Pole in the sleigh and pass by the moon, the moon has a distinct Mickey Mouse logo on it.
  • The role of Scott Calvin/Santa Claus was written with Bill Murray in mind.
  • Scheduling conflicts with another film forced Chevy Chase to turn down the role of Scott Calvin/Santa Claus.
  • Tim Allen has a criminal record and Disney has a no hiring of ex-cons policy. An exception was made in this case.
  • During Scott Calvin’s first year as Santa, he visits Sarah, the little girl. She is clearly missing her two front teeth. She wants him to drink the milk but he says he is lactose intolerant. The next year she leaves him soy milk, and when she speaks she is still missing her two front teeth.

What is your favorite scene in The Santa Clause? Is this movie a Christmas tradition for your family? Let me know in the comment section below!

This is my favorite Christmas movie! We watch it every year while we decorate (and then a few more times throughout the Christmas season). I'll have to look for that hidden Mickey next time!

One of our favorite holiday movies! I could see Chevy Chase in this part, but not Bill Murray. Tim Allen was a perfect choice, though!

I like this first movie - and the 3rd. The 2nd one really gets on my nerves. All those plastic Santas freak me out!
