As an adult, I love Disney World. My favorite time of the year at Walt Disney World is Fall because that’s when I get to go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. In my opinion, this ticketed event is one of the times adults can have the most fun at Magic Kingdom! These are my Top Tips for Adults at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!

Is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party for Adults?
While Disney is very child-friendly, that doesn’t mean that adults won’t also be entertained. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party really has something for everyone, adults included. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a ticketed, after-hours special event. Tickets start at $79.
Top Things for Adults to do at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
If you love the fun side of Halloween but think that any of the non-gorier events are too kid-centric than I’m happy to say that you’re wrong. There is so much to do that it’s hard to do everything in one night. Just a few highlights are:
- Special entertainment
- Rare Characters
- Rides enhanced for the event
- Adults get to wear costumes
- Special Treats
- Trick or Treat candy trails
- And more….

Mickey’s Not So Scary Entertainment
At the Halloween Party, there are extras throughout the park but the ones to not miss are The “Boo To You” Parade, the “Happy HalloWishes” Fireworks and the Castle Show the “Hocus Pocus Villian Spectacular”.
Boo to You Parade
Before the parade keep your eye out for the Headless Horseman as he rides the route with his flaming pumpkin head!

The “Boo To you Parade” has a song that will be stuck in your head, in a good way, for quite a while after it’s passed. Filled with characters in their Halloween costumes and some spooky dancers the parade ends with the Villains letting you know that “It’s good to be bad”.

Happy HalloWishes Fireworks
The “Happy HalloWishes”Fireworks is one of the best fireworks shows at Disney, other than New Year’s Eve. It brings in some of the spooky side and set to the theme songs of the Disney Villains.
Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular
If you’re a fan of the movie Hocus Pocus don’t miss out on running amuck with the Sanderson sisters at the “Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular”. This fun brings the sisters into contact with some of your favorite Disney Villains, including my favorite Mr. Oogie Boogie Man, for a show that’s sure to put a spell on you!

Cadaver Dans
During a regular day you can catch the Dapper Dans performing on Main Street. During Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party the Dapper Dans transform into the Cadaver Dans to entertain and amaze!
Hidden Magic All Over
I also love the surprises around the park, like Madame Leota’s Southern Belle friend who likes to perch on a bench by the Haunted Mansion recruiting new occupants of the mansion.

Rare Characters
You also have the chance to meet some of the characters who don’t come out regularly, including Jack and Sally from “Nightmare Before Christmas”. Since these characters aren’t regularly out be aware that lines for them will be long. I always pick who I really want to see, or who I haven’t seen before and try to make it to them first thing or right before the end of the party.
Enhanced Rides
One of the best things that was added to this year’s event are the ride enhancements. On Space Mountain, you ride in total darkness to the soundtrack of some of your favorite rock and roll songs. The Teacups have special lighting and music during the party for added “Madness” and look out for real live pirates on Pirates of the Caribbean.

Can Adults wear Costumes at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party?
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is the one time of the year that everyone, including adults, can wear Halloween costumes into the park. For my birthday a few years ago I made my friends dress as the characters from Alice in Wonderland! I’ve seen some really great group and individual costumes, everything from the monorail to the purple wall, and of course every Disney character ever! This is your chance to have fun and be creative.
Remember it’s still Fall in Florida and that does not mean cooler weather. I wouldn’t pull out the fur for your Cruella DeVille look!
Special Treats
One of the fun things about any special event at Disney is the treats made just for the event, and the treats for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party did not disappoint! My two favorites were the Worms in Dirt from Pecos Bill’s and the Jack Skellington Push Pop from Sleepy Hollow.
The Worms in Dirt was gummy worms on top of crumbled chocolate cookie and chocolate pudding with a white chocolate tombstone for Master Gracey.

The Jack Skellington Push Pop was a push pop parfait layered with chocolate cake, butter cream icing, candy pearls and topped with a white chocolate Jack.

Trick or Treat Candy Trails
Of course, no Halloween Party is complete without trick or treating! During Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party has plenty of chances for grown-ups to do your trick or treating with candy trails located throughout the park. Cast members will provide you with a bag and you can go through the stops as many times as you want!

There is usually one “healthy” treat stop, this year it was GoGo Squeeze applesauce. Additionally, they do have allergy-friendly treats if you need them, just ask a cast member.
And So Much More!
In addition to all of that there’s special merchandise for the event. including, shirts, bags, pins and an event popcorn bucket (See my Mr. Oogie Boogie popcorn bucket above).
There are dance parties, magic shots and so much to do you won’t have a second to be bored! So whether you’re with kids or a kid at heart, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party is a fun-filled event for every Disney lover!
