Disney’s Contemporary Resort has some spectacular dining options and the Wave is one I have been wanting to try for a long time. I finally made it there and I have got to say the atmosphere, food, and service make this table service restaurant a Disney World hidden gem!
The Wave at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a monorail resort. If you are not staying in a monorail resort than the best way to get to the resort is to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and walk over to the resort. It would be a 5-10 minute walk. You could also Uber or take one of the Disney Minnie Vans.
The Wave is located on the first floor just beyond the check-in desk. It’s hard to miss as there is this contemporary looking hallway leading you to the lounge and Wave check-in desk.
Breakfast at the Wave has 2 options, you can either get the breakfast buffet or you can order ala carte. I decided to try the buffet. Each person in your party can choose their own choice.
The Wave Breakfast Buffet Review
One of my favorite selling points of this buffet is the price point. Since this is a buffet without characters the price is just $25 for adults $14 for children. If you have the dining plan, prices don’t matter as much but still a nice value if you add a few alcoholic drinks!
Compared to other breakfast buffets on Disney property this buffet is smaller because does not have as many options. Let me share some of the options that make a bit different than other breakfast buffets.
In addition to the offerings below, options also include Mickey Waffles, biscuits and gravy, croissants, cereal, and other assorted pastries, fruit, hashbrown casserole, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage links.
Eggs Benedict. Yes, they are delicious eggs benedict on the buffet. They are are not as amazing as the made to order ones at the Grand Floridian Cafe but I still enjoyed them. They weren’t overcooked, the yolk was still runny and they were hot as this is one item that disappeared as soon as it was put out. Took me a couple tries to finally try one.
Sweet Potato Pancakes. I loved these sweet potato pancakes. They had an earthy, nutty flavor. Your server will also bring out some delicious honey pecan butter that you can put on top of the pancakes as well.
Yogurt Parfaits. A lot of buffets have yogurt available and then you can make your own parfait or yogurt bowl with the granola and available fruits. At the Wave breakfast buffet, the parfaits are premade in cute little jars.
Two other options on the buffet that are a bit different were the ham & cheese pinwheels and the Deviled Eggs. The eggs were just ok but the pinwheels were rather good.
Have you ever been to the Wave for breakfast? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!
