Several times when I have visited Downtown Disney I have caught some of the patio performances of the Raglan Road dancers. When I was a teen I was a clogger and Irish dance captivates me in a way no other dance can. I was so excited to try out Raglan Road and their their delicious eats. This experience marked another item off my Disney Bucket List.
We didn’t plan on eating at Raglan Road this trip so we did not have a reservation. We had to wait just under an hour to get a table inside. If we would of wanted a table outside, then our wait would have been just 10 minutes. During our wait we wandered through the gift shop and then headed to the nearby entertainment stage to hear some live music. The pager has a pretty good range so we knew we wouldn’t miss getting our page when our table was ready.
Raglan Road Review
We were seated in the main section and had great seats for the dancing platform and the stage. The dancing is amazing! At one point they chose a few kids from the audience and took them backstage to give them a mini dancing lesson. The kids performed on stage a bit later. I do like that I did not feel rushed at the restaurant. You can really take time to enjoy your meal and the entertainment. If you want to see the dancing, you have to make your reservation after 6pm.
The first thing the server brought out was the Irish Soda bread. That bread is amazing and I am excited to make my own for at home. We asked for seconds and it was quickly brought out to our table. The service overall was amazing! Our server always had our glasses filled and was so friendly.
I ordered the Schnitzel Savvy. It is breaded and seared ham schnitzel with smoked baked beans and an egg on top. I had never had schnitzel before and loved it. The flavors of the beans, schnitzel, and egg went together wonderfully. My dish also came with some yummy fries.
We were celebrating my husbands birthday this trip and even though we had Kona Cafe booked on his actual birthday, they still gave us a choice of a free dessert. He chose the Ger’s Bread & Butter Pudding. He loved the sauces that came with the dessert to drizzle them in. It was a HUGE dessert and he ended up taking it back to our room to finish for breakfast the next morning.
Since this is a pub it is a bit noisy so not the best place to choose if you are looking for a quiet, romantic spot to dine at. I do consider this a must-do dining experience! So far this is one of my top 3 dining experiences at Disney. The the other two being 1900 Park Fair and Boma.
