The Muppets star in an all-new live show at Magic Kingdom Park called “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History.”
About the Show: The Muppets Present Great Moments in American History
Sam Eagle, the fiercely patriotic American eagle who is forever trying to set a high moral standard for the Muppets, joins Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, The Great Gonzo and James Jefferson, town crier of Liberty Square, as they gather outside The Hall of Presidents to present historical tales in hysterical Muppets fashion. From the midnight ride of Paul Revere to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Muppets will appear throughout the day to share their own unique take on the founding fathers and the birth of the United States of America.
“The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History” is presented multiple times daily and features an original song and wacky Muppets humor. (Related: Muppets Most Wanted Activity Sheets)
Review: The Muppets Present Great Moments in American History
Would I say that this show is a must-do at the Magic Kingdom? Probably not, unless you are a huge Muppets fan. The show is really cute and pretty informational. The humor is exactly what you can expect from the Muppets gang.
I found the show awkward to watch. You are switching from watching atop the Hall of Presidents (way up high) to the ground level to see the town crier, to the up high again to see the rest of the Muppets above the Heritage House.
From what I gather, right now there are just two different shows. I would love to see more added, so I can enjoy it several times.
I have shared some video I took of the show. My phone ran out of space for the last couple minutes, sorry about that. I hope you still enjoy what I was able to capture.
Tips: The Muppets Present Great Moments in American History
- Check the times guides or your MDE for showtimes. I watched at 3:45, shortly after the Festival of Fantasy parade.
- The show is outdoors so make sure you have sunblock on and are prepared for the heat.
- If you are a family with a young child, get to the show early. They pick a volunteer to help ring the bell at the end of the show. It was cute when I saw it because they asked a little girl who was shy to answer and her sister spoke up. Disney was awesome though, as always, and went and found another bell so both girls could participate.
- If you get there a little bit early, they pass out little American flags. I thought that was a nice touch! If you are looking for something to do while waiting for the show to start, check out this Muppets Mad Libs book to take to the park!
