Losing Weight with Mandisa and Amy Grant

Disclaimer: I received these CD’s Family Christian to help create review. All opinions are my own. This week I got review Mandisa’s Remixed CD along with Amy Grant’s Remixed CD. Each CD has each artist’s best songs and kicked them up a notch! These CD’s were a great addition to my home workouts. I ended up buying digital copies of the albums so I could have them at the gym too!

Mandisa is great for working out! Just  listening to the words keeps me on track, thinking I am an Overcomer, Stronger, and Pressing On! Mandisa Remixed takes all those great lyrics and adds in great body moving music! During one of my home workouts where I used Walk Away the Pounds, I muted the TV and put this CD on instead. The workout went by so fast!

I do have to say that out of the 2 CD’s, I am more in love with the Amy Grant CD. It is old school Amy Grant songs that they remixed. They sound so much more modern. Same great lyrics that bring back so many great memories as a child and teen. I remember crafting dances to her songs when I was a child, so it was so natural to have a free dance workout session with this new CD.

For weight loss, this week was pretty sad. I was sick with allergies, couldn’t get out of bed sick for 2 days. I did go to gym 3 times after that, I even went on Halloween when I knew I was going to be having some treats (lifestyle change, not diet so occasional sweets are ok). What wasn’t ok was having pizza afterwards. I should of had a meal planned after the fall festival- hence my one of my goals for this upcoming week!


  • Make a meal plan for the rest of October. I mainly get off track when I have no meals planned. Life happens and it gets busy, then I end up ordering a pizza or what not. That happened once this week because of the busyness of the Halloween weekend.
  • Continue going to the gym at least 3 times a week! I finally met a trainer that I feel comfortable asking questions. Now maybe I will go home with less injuries using the weights.
  • Start taking my supplements again. With cold/flu season upon us I want to keep my immune system strong.


Weight lost this week: 0 lbs. 🙁 — I am ok with this, considering I did indulge in some chocolate and had pizza one night. Next week will see a big loss! I also was very sick for 3 days, which kept me out of the gym 2 times- stupid allergies!

Weight Loss Goal: 200 pounds.

Weight loss for the year: 27 lbs., 173 more pounds to go


Even though I did not drop pounds, a skirt is now out of my wardrobe because it falls off of me. I have a pair of khakis that are going the same direction! Stay tuned next week for some pictures, will be showing my before and now!
