Disclaimer: I received a copy of Kingdom Classics by Peter Alden for free to review. All opinions are my own.

Peter Alden is a great performer! He has a lot of training and practice and it shows with his talent.  I love the fact that part of his training was at both Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. According to the Peter Alden Entertainment website, “He has performed lead roles in both dramas and musicals including Carousel, The Fantasticks, A Comedy Of Errors and – most important to his future career path – Bye, Bye Birdie, a musical that focused on an Elvis-style singer being drafted into the army.” His grasp of the 50’s and 60’s sound is absolutely sensational. I would love to see him perform Elvis in person! Kingdom Classics by Peter Alden

Kingdom Classics by Peter Alden

When I had the chance to review his newest CD Kingdom Classics by Peter Alden, I jumped at the chance. I love Disney Classic songs and I am big fan of old time rock n’ roll. My favorite songs from the CD are Rock and Around the Mouse and We Get Together. Rock around the Mouse is a fun, Disney twist to the song Rock around the Clock. I could have that song on repeat and never get tired of it. Parent Trap is one of my favorite live action movies from Disney and Peter Alden did a great job with the song We Get Together. The other songs were nicely done with the 50’s to 60’s rock sound, but I didn’t love them.

You can preview the Kingdom Classics by Peter Alden CD for yourself at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/peteralden. The whole album is just $10, what a deal!

Overall, the give the CD 2.5/5 stars. Not my favorite Disney CD, but it does have a place in my Disney music collection.

Being from that era I always loved and still love the songs you mentioned. Parent Trap was such a cute movie--as for Bye Bye Birdie--SWOON!! It does not really amaze me that these songs and productions have survived the years.
