Animal Kingdom is a very under appreciated park. This park does have a lot to offer and I love its’ dedication to educating people about animals and how we can help them. The Kilimanjaro Safari is my number one Animal Kingdom Must Do experience! I have to do this attraction every time because it is different every time. No two rides are the same.
Kilimanjaro Safari- Animal Kingdom Must Do
Here are some photos that I got on my last safari!
A group of hippos is called a bloat. I loved that our guide was full of so much knowledge. He was also a very fun guide as we were stuck in a spot for a little while and he kept us very entertained. Sometimes the “ride” slows or stops for a bit because the animals rule the area. If they get in the way of a vehicle then the vehicles stop and wait for them to move. One time I had a giraffe cross in front the the vehicle and I got to get a very close look at his beauty!
See the alligator on the bottom right corner, he has his mouth open to help regulate his heat.
Warthogs! Makes me think of Pumba every time 🙂
Some animals you may encounter during the tour include:
- Black Rhino
- White Rhino
Kilimanjaro Safari Tips
- If you have a dSLR with a great zoom lense, those are great for getting some of animals when they are further out in the Savannah. I have a Nikon D3200 though the pictures in this post were taken with my iPhone.
- If you have a point and shoot, put your settings on sport or fast motion. Sometimes the truck is quick or the animals are.
- The animals are more active in the morning, especially in the summer.
- Get a Fastpass for this experience, unless you plan on making Kilimanjaro Safari your first attraction.
