Book Summary
Joy The Baker: Homemade Decadence is a cookbook full of sweet and decadent treats. Brunch, cookies, brownies, pies, cobbler, cakes, cupcakes and ice creams are just a few of the goodies you will find in the book. Joy Wilson believes that everything is better with pie. And caramel. And definitely ice cream.
My Thoughts
The pictures in the book are beautiful and have you salivating for all the goodies you see. The introductions to each recipe make you want to try recreating the masterpiece she shows you. I also like the tips she shares throughout the book, especially the simple “recipes” like toast and ice cream toppings. I also like the step by step instructions for a cold-butter crust she gives.
When I normally look for a cook book to purchase, I look for simple ingredients and prep. Many of the recipes this book, in my opinion, are a little too expensive for my taste or take too much work. I am not saying that the recipes are bad, just not something I would normally pick up at the store. I would say that out of the 125 recipes in the book, I would realistically see me making about half of the recipes in the book. I would love owning the book, but it probably wouldn’t end up being the one I open every chance I get.
If you have a devoted baker or Pinterest Queen to get a gift for, I would suggest this book.[su_button url=”http://amzn.to/2aJPvut” rel=”nofollow”]Buy Now on Amazon[/su_button]
