This year Halloween Horror Nights will be on select nights between the dates of September 14th-November 3rd. If you have never been, I would highly recommend it. As if all of the fun rides and attractions aren’t enough at Universal Studios, adding in all of the Halloween décor and haunted houses, it makes for a truly terrifying night. Here are a few tips for surviving a night at Halloween Horror Nights.

Top Halloween Horror Nights Tips

1.  Express Pass: If you are someone that only plans to spend one night at Universal Halloween Horror Nights then I personally would recommend adding on the express pass to your ticket. This allows you to jump to the front of the line for select Haunted Houses, rides, and attractions. If you are looking to get a lot done in one night, this may be the way to go for you.

2.  Plan on Paying for Parking: If you are a regular visitor to Universal Studios you probably are aware that they typically offer free parking in the evening because the park is only open for a few more hours. Unfortunately being that the park stays open later during Halloween Horror they do charge the full price for parking, I know this has thrown me off previously so I just want you all to be prepared.

3. Stay on The Sidewalk if You Are Scared: If you are someone that scares easily or if you have a child with you, it is recommended that you stay on the sidewalks when walking around the park as the actors that are dressed up tend to stay away from those on the sidewalks and they really only frighten those walking in the streets.

4. Wait Times Drop Later On: If you are only wanting to go for a couple of hours I would recommend going during the later hours, between 11:00 pm-2:00 am. The early crowd tends to head out around this time and you will see wait times drop significantly.

5.  Keep Age in Mind: If you plan to take your kids to Universal Halloween Horror Nights, please keep in mind that this event is quite scary and it is probably not suitable for young children. If you want to take your kids, I would ensure that they are not easily scared and although there is not a set in stone age restriction, Universal Studios recommends that children under the age of 13 do not attend. If you are looking for a child-friendly party, consider Disney’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

6. Avoid Dress Up: It is very important that if you plan to attend Halloween Horror Nights that you know that they do not allow guests to wear costumes or masks during the event. This avoids confusion between guests and actors and to ensure everyone’s safety. If you are wanting to be in the Halloween spirit, there is nothing against Halloween themed apparel, just avoid actual costumes/accessories.

If you are looking for a fun night of Halloween scares and terrors, I would highly recommend visiting Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. The great part is that they change up the themes every year so it’s not something that you can only go to one time and get bored of it.
