Here is a list of free family activities to enjoy including letters to and from Santa, free photos with Santa, Christmas crafts and fun!

During this busy season, I hope you can take time to create memories and enjoy activities together. Kids really enjoy these free activities and it gets everyone away from their gadgets {my mom’s term} for awhile.

It is always best to call ahead and make sure that your local retailer is participating to avoid disappointment. Thank you to Sweeties Freebies for helping with this list:

  • Macy’s Mail a Letter to Santa- Macy’s will donate $1 for every mailed letter to the Make a Wish Foundation, up to $1,000,000. Find a red mailbox to place your letter HERE.
  • Watch Santa Feeding His Reindeer- Watch Santa’s Reindeer eating and getting fed by Santa for free! Just know that loud music will play when you click on the link to the Reindeer cam. Go here to see the live video feed.Santa feeds his reindeer everyday at 11 am, 6 pm and 9 pm EST.
  • Bass Pro Shops-Now thru December 24th- Santa’s Wonderland – Free 4×6 studio quality photo with Santa, games and activities. If the wait for photos is more than 30 minutes, get a Bass Pass in stores on a first come, first served basis. Get all the details photo with santa
  •  Walgreens: FREE Photos with Santa-Participating Walgreens Stores will be offering a Photo Op with Santa. The first 25 Customers get a FREE Print of their Photo and a FREE Magnet. Go here to find participating stores.
  •  FREE Personalized Story Recording from SantaA Story Before Bed will give you a FREE recording of Santa reading your child a story! All you need is your email address and your child’s name. You will need to confirm the email that you receive from A Story Before Bed and then you will receive a link to your child’s personalized story. Quantities are limited.
  • FREE Santa Tracker-Track Santa at This free site takes a minute to load. You can see where Santa is at on his journey and how soon they need to get in bed so he can make his stop!
  • FREE Letters From Santa-Letters from Santa offers Free Letters from Santa as well as a Magical Letter from Santa for $2.99. You quickly grab a printable letter addressed by the big guy himself or choose the Magical Option for a more personalized and unique letter.
  • Get a FREE Letter from Santa- Letters from Santa Claus from Santa Claus, Indiana: Since 1914, children have enjoyed receiving letters from Santa Claus for free. You can receive a written letter from Santa Claus as well! Mail a letter with a legible return address to:

Every letter mailed to Santa Claus before December 21st, will receive a letter back from Santa Claus himself! The earlier you can send in your letter the better. These are volunteers hard at work so if you would like to help pay for postage, donations would greatly be appreciated. They can be sent to the address listed above as well.

  • Barnes & Noble-Now through Christmas-The Elf on the Shelf- story time, activities & Adopt-an Elf events. Enter your zip code here to find a participating store near you.
  • Michael’s Kids Club:-Saturday, December 14th-Kids use Crayola Oil Pastels to create a whimsical work of art, great for gift-giving. For kids ages 3 and up.~The cost is $2 per child for a 30 minute reservation. Let your kids explore their creativity while you shop. Sessions start every half hour starting at 10 am. Ending times vary by store. Get more information here.
  • Pottery Barn Kids-
    • Now through Friday, December 20th-Spot the Elf Game – Join in for a magical game of I Spy. The Elf on the Shelf will be hiding in a new place each week. Children who spot him will win a prize from the holiday treasure chest. Meet one of the Elf on the Shelf Authors at selected stores. To locate a participating store near you, click here.
    • Every Tuesday from 11- 11:30 am- Kids of all ages are welcome. Members receive an official book club passport and a special gift after attending five story times.
  • Lowe’s Build & Grow-Saturday, December 14th 10 am – 11 am.Kids will make and take a festive train engine. Register your kids online here. Kids build a wooden project and get a free apron, goggle, patch and more!
  • Christmas Parade– Main Street New Port Richey, FL Saturday, December 14th!
