I have been watching Dog with a Blog for awhile. I love the show. One because it features animals and also because I believe it is one of the best shows that is on TV right now.
Tonight’s new episode of “Dog With a Blog” featured a great mother and daughter moment between Avery and Ellen. Avery has been upset with Chloe and Ellen lately, but no one knows why. Avery doesn’t even know why. She chats with the family dog, Stan. I talk to my dogs quite often when I am upset. Unfortunately, my dog can’t talk like Stan can. Stan offers some silly advice, but then Avery figures she will try to talk to her mom and Chloe, even though she still doesn’t understand why she is upset with them. The talk didn’t end up quite like she wanted and the drama continued. Chloe also talked to Stan, who told her to bring a dead animal to Avery. Which only made the argument continue because you don’t solve human problems the same way as a dog. When the tension in the house rises, Bennett steps in to give them space to share their feelings. During the session, Avery realizes she misses her mom and the relationship she had. Ellen reassures her that no matter what, she is always there for her. I think it is wonderful that “Dog with a Blog” showcased this common family dilemma and loved how a solution was found. So many teens now feel they can’t talk to their mom. This episode would be a great one to watch as a mother/daughter night.
Meanwhile, Tyler’s is crushin’ on his new co-worker. He met her mom first and she described her daughter as “The Beast” and it made Tyler afraid to meet her. Once she turned out to be super cute and also a stunt biker, he became infatuated. Tyler also turned to Stan for advice since he was not allowed to date the new co-worker because it was his bosses’ daughter. Stan tried behavioral therapy on Tyler. Well, to make it funny Tyler tried behavioral therapy on himself. Everytime he thought of the girl he would hit himself with a newspaper. It was funny and added comedic relief to the underlying issues the show was addressing. The mom overheard the conversation between Avery and Ellen and decided she couldn’t make her daughter’s choices for her. She gave Tyler permission to date her daughter.
Overall, the episode was really enjoyable. I am a very big Stan fan. The show covers some great issues like dealing with blended families, being a teen in the current age, and good morality. I can’t wait for the next new episode.
