If you love making your own Christmas ornaments and are addicted to Disney, you really need to see this ornament. It’s EASY to make and is positively adorable, just like Tinker Bell. You can always go out and buy ornaments, but it will end up being rather expensive. Making your own is a blast and saves you loads of money too.

Easy DIY Tinker Bell Ornament

Whether you are making this DIY Tinker Bell ornament for yourself or giving it away as a gift, I can promise it’s going to be loved. You only need 4 materials and 2 tools to complete this DIY ornament. Because they are so easy and inexpensive, you could even make them for selling at craft shows too. The options are endless!

Floor Finish
Glass Ornament
Green Glitter – Fine glitter is better than chunkier glitter as it spreads more evenly. Go for a brighter color like Tinker Bell’s dress than a typical tree green. The Dollar Tree has the perfect shade!
White Glitter Foam
Hot Glue Gun

How to Make A Tinker Bell Ornament

Start by removing the top to your ornament and pouring in a small amount of floor finish.
Swirl the finish around the entirety of the ornament and drain any excess. If you are doing more than one ornament then using an old egg carton makes a perfect stand for the excess cleaner to drip out.
Carefully pour in your glitter and again swirl that around and drain any excess.
Next you’ll want to draw out Tinkerbell’s Wings, I chose to freehand them but if you need assistance you can always print a stencil and use that
I found it easier to first cross the wings over one another and glue those together first and then you will want to glue it to the ornament itself.
Replace your ornament lid, add a hook and there you have it!

Do I Have To Use Glass Ornament?

Overall, the results are better when you make this Tinker Bell ornament with glass. The floor cleaner spreads nicely, and the glitter sticks to it perfectly. You can always try plastic if that is what you have on hand, but it may not give you the exact results that you are looking for.

How Do You Store Ornaments?

There are several different options & tips on how to store ornaments. Here are a few ideas to try:

Wrap in Tissue Paper – Carefully wrap each glass ornament in tissue paper. This will give them a slight cushion. It’s best to wrap them a few times.
Use Bubble Wrap – Bubble wrap isn’t just something fun to play with; you can use it to wrap your ornaments too. Wrap each ornament individually.
Storage Container – No matter how you wrap the ornaments, be sure to add them to a storage container. They make organizers that are intended for ornaments.
Away From Sunlight – Keep the storage container away from direct sunlight. It can make them fade, and they won’t last as long.
Make Sure It’s Sturdy – Never use a flimsy cardboard box. The box should be strong and sturdy. This way, you don’t have to worry about the bottom giving out once you fill it.
