DIY Pet Food Container

Thank you for sharing!

I was watching Good Morning America and they have a segment where they do deals of the week, giving GMA viewers 50% or more off certain products. Usually the products are from little posh websites selling unique items. One day they had a pet accessory website offering half off. The items picture ranged from collars to pet beds. I saw a pet food container and thought “I could make that”–and I did. It was my first time spray painting something so my technique wasn’t quite right but I still think I did an ok job.

1. I took a used popcorn tin sprayed painted the bottom black.

2. I sprayed the top a chrome color.

3. After those parts dried, I used acrylic paint and free handed a label trying to use a Disney font. Not the best- but I think that is part of the charm of a DIY project.

Now I have a cute thing to hold my cat’s food. It holds his whole bag.

Next, I am working a pet food container for my dog. I am looking for something for a 17-20 lb. bag of food. A popcorn tin is too big. The only thing I can think of is a 5 gallon bucket.
