Ever get homesick for your Disney home? I do. I know I only live 2 hours away, but I constantly miss my Mickey Mouse. Disney on Ice brings all the magic of Disney to your hometown. This was my first time going to Disney on Ice. Let’s Celebrate takes you through several holidays. Many classic characters help Mickey and Minnie celebrate each one starting with an un-birthday celebration. I really enjoyed the show and the atmosphere. You can buy Mouse Ears, the same glow in the dark toys, special popcorn containers, and fun dessert cups just like you can in the parks. I loved seeing all the kids dressed up like little princesses and pirates. Excitement is in the air as the show gets ready to begin.
My favorite part was the Luau scene. They actually lit the ice on fire! It was so cool. Lilo and Stitch were fun and I liked watching Goofy try to surf and swim on the ice. My second favorite part was the Halloween celebration. That part was very well done. I loved seeing all the villains together. It reminded me of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party!
My husband thought some parts were somewhat cheesy, but this is a “kids” show so I expected some of that. I did not expect how elaborate the sets were going to be. When Minnie was in Japan, the tree that was part of the set was so beautiful. Minnie’s dress was amazing and the choreography was amazing. The skating is nothing over the top and music is nice. You will find yourself singing and dancing along with Mickey and the gang. I was disappointed they played “newer” versions of some of the classic songs, mainly So This is Love from Cinderella.
Overall, this show is a must for any Disney loving person to experience, especially those with children!
