Even though most of the days here in Florida don’t call for a cozy mug of hot cocoa, there are those occasional days where nothing but a warm, chocolatey mug of goodness hits the spot. Most of the time I will reach for the Swiss Miss variety where all I have to do is heat up some water. With coupons you can get it as low as 50¢ per box. Well, now that I am on my weight loss journey (24 pounds lost so far) I need a healthier alternative. Have you seen the nutritional facts on a cup of Swiss Miss or read the ingredients?

I was given the chance to try Crio Brü. This product intrigued me. This cocoa is brewable just like coffee. To me that makes sense. Coffee comes from beans and we brew that, cocoa comes from beans, so naturally we should brew that too. I am trying to rid myself and my home of “fake” processed food. The cocoa bean (also known as the cacao bean) is one of nature’s most amazing superfoods, offering high antioxidant value, mineral benefits and natural energy. Doctors and dieticians have espoused the benefits of dark chocolate for years, teaching us that the cacoa beans used to make this healthy chocolate can become a critical part of a healthy diet.

My Crio Brü Cocoa Review:
I brewed a pot and was somewhat disappointed because I was expecting the same flavor as hot cocoa. It tastes more like coffee. It was a bit bitter. Once I got over my initial reaction, I added some agave nectar and enjoyed it a lot more. It has the flavor of a mocha latte after I sweetened it up a bit. I enjoyed it quite a bit after the sweetening. I could have added cream or milk as well. The Cavalla variety that I tried was supposed to have a coconut taste but I really didn’t taste it. In a way that is good for me because I am not a coconut fan. I do recommend to anyone looking for a chocolatey coffee that is healthier for you than what is currently out there.
